Mitsui & Co. HRD Institute provides planning, development, and consultation services in the areas of human resource and organizational development for Mitsui & Co., its group companies (approximately 100), and its overseas trading subsidiaries.
To help solve the management and organizational issues of these companies, we plan, develop, and administer various training programs, and we ourselves perform the functions of instructors and facilitators for some of them. We also have a specialist team dedicated to providing foreign language translation and English editing services.

Our Roles within Mitsui & Co. Group

Throughout its long history, Mitsui & Co. Group has positioned human resources as its most important management assets. This is naturally reflected in a consistent focus on human resource development.

Mitsui & Co. Group’s most important management priority is the development of people capable of driving the global group management and building brighter futures.

In this context, Mitsui & Co. HRD Institute plays a unique role. While taking partial responsibility for Mitsui & Co.’s personnel functions, we also have an independent existence as a group of professionals.

We examine the management and organizational issues of Mitsui & Co. and its group companies and work to provide fundamental solutions by devising training programs and other human resource and organization development solutions. When we implement these programs, we sometimes perform the functions of instructors and facilitators ourselves.

In addition to providing solutions in Japan, we also contribute to human resource development at the global level. For example, we second our staff abroad to reform and enhance the training systems conducted by overseas Mitsui & Co. subsidiaries. We also plan and develop training programs in Japan that are attended by employees who come from countries around the world.

Recently we have expanded the scope of our solutions to include not only training but also advisory services in such areas as the improvement of employee engagement, and issues relating to personnel systems, appraisals, and labor management.
